Girls' Getaway Weekend: Day 5 - Hollywood Studios

A Brief Hollywood Adventure

The final day of Girls' Getaway Weekend was pretty laid back. Since everyone was leaving at different times, there were no official events. One of my roommates access I had planned to go to Hollywood Studios for the morning since our flight wasn't until late afternoon. Our other roommate had a late flight as well and decided to join us.  We checked out of our room and stored our bags with luggage services so we could visit the park unencumbered.

Girls' Getaway Weekend: Day 4 - Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom

We awoke on our last full day at the parks super excited to be visiting the Magic Kingdom! No Walt Disney World visit is complete without seeing Cinderella Castle, at least for me! We arrived just before rope drop and waited to go through security. I got separated from my group, but we quickly met back up inside. Our first stop on our Magic Kingdom day was the remodeled Main Street Bakery (aka Starbucks) for some much needed caffeine. We then met up as a big Girls' Weekend group for a picture in front of the castle!

Girls' Getaway Weekend: Day 3 - Animal Kingdom

A Wild Safari Breakfast

The second unique event for Girls' Getaway Weekend involved getting to ride the first Kilimanjaro Safari of the day, followed by a private breakfast in Africa.  When I was a Cast Member, my primary role was selling tickets at the front of Animal Kingdom. Getting to walk through the park as the animals are waking up, before the crowds start to file in, took me back to some of my favorite memories from my CM days.  If you get chance to enter the park before it opens (like by having an early breakfast reservation at Tusker House), I really recommend giving yourself some extra time to really look around and experience the animals in the quiet peacefulness of the early morning.

Girls' Getaway Weekend: Day 2 - Epcot

A Very Beachy Breakfast

The first official Girls' Getaway Weekend event was breakfast at Cape May Cafe at the beach club resort. After the craziness of the previous night trying to get to the Boardwalk my roommates and I decided to take a taxi, especially since we had a fairly early reservation time. We ended up being the first ones there so we checked in at the restaurant and then went outside to explore the grounds. Having only been to the Beach Club once before to go to Beaches and Cream, I hadn't previously had much chance to see the resort. I can honestly say I'm a fan, with the Beach Club now sitting safely in second, right behind the Polynesian, for places I want to stay!

Girls' Getaway Weekend: Arrival Day!

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

In all my Disney adventures, I've only flown to Orlando once before... and that was when I was 9! After the driving fiasco during our last trip to Florida, I was definitely excited to be flying. My friend picked me up around noon and we were on our way.  Our flight was uneventful, other than getting to see an aerial view of our resort, Pop Century!
